2012 was a memorable year for Anh Vien by the incredible efforts and success. The teen swimmer became the first swimmer in Vietnam’s swimming history to win a card to the Olympics.

After returning from the Olympics, Anh Vien won a silver medal and a bronze medal at the Asian Championships. In addition to these medals, her progress also reflected in breaking her own national record at international tournaments.

In addition to her natural talents, Anh Vien’s improvement came from her long-term training course camp in the U.S, where other Vietnamese swimmers like Quy Phuoc and Kim Tuyen failed; Anh Vien showed her great adaptation.

Based on this, the General Department of Sports and Physical Training will invest more than VND1 billion in 2013 for the young female swimmer.

In addition to the goal of winning a gold medal in the Southeast Asian Games later this year, Anh Vien hopes to win medal at the Asian Games 2014 and beyond the 2016 Olympics.
