An will play a variety of contemporary and international classical compositions, including works by Mauro Giuliani, Joaquin Rodrigo, Nakita Koshkin, Johann Kaspa Mertz, Roland Dyens, Heitor Villa-Lobos Leo Brouwer, and Astor Piazzolla.

The young guitarist will also play an arrangement of Vietnamese traditional folk music, Beo Dat May Troi, by Dang Ngoc Long. An said the piece is closely connected to him, as his parents used to lull him to sleep with these traditional rhythms.

A graduate of the university's School of Music, An became the 39th student to be honoured as Student Laureates of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois in November, last year. He also earned first prize in the 2013 Society of American Musicians Guitar Competition.

An's performance will be his first concert for an audience in Viet Nam, which will include his parents and relatives. During his two-month break, An also visited orphanages in the city to perform for the children and staff, similar to charitable activities he often joined in the US, where he has studied for seven years.

The performance starts at 8pm at L'Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street, Ha Noi.
