He was speaking at a reception organised in Ha Noi for a delegation from the Youth Division of Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party led by Keisuke Suzuki.
Chinh also called for organising activities to promote co-operation in economy, investment and trade, as well as encouraging more Japanese businesses to invest in Viet Nam in manufacturing, energy, hi-tech agriculture and support industries.
He expressed his pleasure at the strong, comprehensive and intensive development of the extensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan, saying it would foster peace and prosperity in Asia.
He affirmed that Viet Nam always considered Japan a top foreign policy priority. He thanked the Japanese Government for providing official development assistance (ODA) for Viet Nam to boost its socio-economic development, reduce poverty, cope with climate change and develop infrastructure, energy and agriculture.
Keisuke Suzuki noted that 2017 had been a busy year for the two countries with a series of visits by their leaders. Among those were the Viet Nam visits by the Japanese Emperor and Empress and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, and most recently the visit to Japan by Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
He called on Viet Nam and Japan to enhance multifaceted co-operation, particularly in economy and trade, for the benefit of both peoples. Also yesterday, head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Information and Education Vo Van Thuong, hosted a reception for the Japanese guests.
