Ly Hoang Nam was knocked out of the Copa Gatorade in Venezuela yesterday after going down 2-6, 6-7 to No 4 seed Luca Corinteli of the US.




Nam struggled to cope with his 2m rival's serve and volley tactics and the first set quickly ran away from him. In the second set, the young Vietnamese player started to read the Corinteli serve and forced him into a tie-break, but was unable to capitalise to take the match to a third set.

In the doubles event, Nam and his partner David Volfson from Canada were also eliminated at the quarter-final stage. They were defeated 3-6, 2-6 by Mexican duo Diego Omar Nunez Felix and Adrian Ortiz.
