As one of the countries hardest hit by climate change, Vietnam has set coping with this weather change a pressing task. A dialogue was held in Hanoi on May 8 where the youths learnt how to deal with impacts of climate change.



Youth is the core force of society and they are the future of the country. So, they should have a thorough understanding of climate change. They should also know well their social responsibility for the issue and act.

 “Impacts of climate change are hugely visible. I will join in dealing with climate change impacts by planting trees, using less nylon bags. I will tell others to protect the environment,” said Le Ngoc Son, a Thai Binh resident.

Nguyen Hai Anh, a student at National Economics University said she used public transportation means and turned off electric devices when not used.

Fabrice Richy,  Director of Agency of French Development said the agency has dealt with climate matters for a long time.

“We have worked with many Vietnamese localities and the Electricity of Vietnam in the production and management of electricity to save this energy,” he added.

At the dialogue, managers, scientists and youths also talked about the realities and directions for the sustainable development in Vietnam.

Within the scope of the dialogue, the Agency of French Development and the Ministry of Resources and Environment announced the official launch of GEMMES Vietnam. GEMMES Vietnam is an economic research program about climate change.-VNA
