A scence in Kitchen Gods show 2014

Dao Viet Dung, a representative of Hi-tech Security Investment and Development Company (CNC), said that websites removed videos and clips of Kitchen Gods 2014 right after they had been posted online. YouTube blocked the accounts of users who posted the programme, but the company still wants compensation, and is willing to bring the case to court.

Dung added that, besides YouTube, other websites and individuals have also violated copyright law by posting Kitchen Gods 2014 clips. After the programme was shown on channels of Vietnam Television on New Year’s Eve, numerous clips of the programme were posted on YouTube.

Right after CNC authorised to protect the copyright of Kitchen Gods 2014 and 2014 Comedy Gala online, the firm sent a document to YouTube so that it could prevent users from posting the clip. However, the copyright protection company says they still violated regulations, he noted.

This year, Vietnam Television did not issue Kitchen Gods disc as in previous years. Instead, being given rights to distribute the programme online, CNC published it on its website.

Anyone who wants to see it online must go to the website and pay a fee of VND3,000 (USD0.14).

CNC said that they have the sole right to publish this content and they take legal actions to pursue any violations.

The annual Kitchen Gods show is a much-awaited programme among Vietnamese audiences during Tet. The show includes different gods, such as the Health God, the Transport God, the Culture God and the Economics God, along with some other long-standing characters like the Jade Emperor. The characters tend to focus on current social issues.
