Over 200 contestants from across the country are due to take part in the competition, whilst the event will also draw the participation of many foreign contestants from Thailand, Australia, the United States, Singapore, Canada, France, China, and Indonesia.

The judging panel for the contests consists of pianist Dao Trong Tuyen, head of the piano faculty at Vietnam National Academy of Music, guitarist Nguyen Van Phuc, cellist Bui Ha Mien, and vocal artist Ho Thi Hoang Ha.

The first, second, and third-placed prize winners will receive scholarships worth VND5 million, VND2 million and VND1 million, respectively.

The organisers will also grant other awards as part of the event; including for the best contestant of each musical instrument, piano, guitar, flute, and zither; the best online contestant; the best ethnic contestant; the youngest contestant; and the most impressive performance costume.

The first Zhongsin International Music Competition was held in Singapore back in 2007. The competition aims to be one of the most professional, all-encompassing international music competitions of its kind. Upon its founding, this competition received tremendous support from the National Arts Council of Singapore and the Singapore Chinese Music Association.

The contest includes preliminary and final rounds, with the preliminary qualifiers having over 50,000 entrants, whilst 1,000 finalists attend the competition every year. Competitors come from different countries around the world and they compete against each other in categories such as piano, voice, strings, guitar, winds, electronic organ, accordion, percussion, and folk instruments.

This year marks the first time the competition has been launched in Vietnam.
