The event marks the second time that the festival has been held in the capital city, with the aim of promoting traditional cultural values of Mong ethnic people from the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai to local people and tourists in Hanoi.

A wide range of cultural activities are set to take place across the two-day festival with Mong ethnic people from the districts of Mu Cang Chai and Tram Tau will put on a number of special art performances for visitors.

An exhibition which showcases photographs taken of the people and landscapes of Yen Bai province will also go on display.

A replica of a rural Mong ethnic market will also be set up, displaying traditional products to both local people and tourists.

In addition, the Yen Bai provincial People’s Committee will present tourism products and information regarding a paragliding festival, a panpipe festival, and traditional costume performances which will transpire in the province this May.
