Entrants must send their designs to organisers by June 15, with no limitations existing on the designs of each contestant. The best 15 designs will progress to the next round where they will be voted upon between June 15 and July 15. The Top 3 will then be put to the public who will decide which outfit comes out on top.

A design titled “Xich Lo”, known in English as a cyclo, by Nguyen Quoc Viet utilizes the popular mode of transportation for foreign tourists whilst visiting Vietnam.

Nguyen Dang Tung’s entry titled “Choi Trau”, or buffalo fighting, has impressed viewers due to its accessories such as the headband and gown, along with the red and gold of the national flag. The dress has been inspired by the buffalo fighting festival which takes place in Do Son in Haiphong.

An entry by Nguyen Van Toan is inspired by an ancient royal outfit.

“Ca Phe Phin Sua Da”, or iced milk coffee, by Tran Nguyen Minh Duc would serve to introduce the country’s coffee culture to an international audience.

This powerful outfit by Truong Kieu Vi takes inspiration from the legend “Thanh Giong”, or Saint Giong.

The beautiful landscapes of Vietnam are represented in an entry titled “Ngoc Nga Sac Viet” by Nguyen Thi Yen Nhi.
