Early blooming trees put on sale for the new year

Thanks to favourable weather, the peach flower trees are all of higher quality than last year but the prices are also higher by VND30,000 (USD1.30) to VND50,000. A small branch cost from VND100,000 to VND200,000. Bigger branches cost VND200,000 to VND800,000 each depending on the size and the number of flowers.

Nguyen Thi Lan, a seller at Quang An Market, said many people had already bought peach flower blossoms for the New Year Eve. "I sell 70-100 branches each day. The peach flowers already bloom a lot due to warm weather," she said.

Nguyen Hung from Hanoi said everyone liked peach flower blossoms and he often buys them for the new year.

"But it's difficult to find trees or branches with beautiful shapes at this time so I choose big branches with lots of blooming flowers," he said. "Buying peach flower blossoms for the new year is nice. I often invite friends to party or enjoy tea together while admiring the flowers.

56-year-old Nguyen Van Nam, a farmer in Nhat Tan, said early blooming trees and branches were put on sale for the new year.

"Experienced buyers often choose branches and trees with good shapes, lots of buds and there are sizes of the branch to be considered. That's why many small branches are sold at high prices. Big branches that do not have good shapes or lots of buds have low prices," he said. Dtinews
