A large fire broke out at 9:15 a.m, August 26, on a canoe in Nha Trang Bay in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, injuring two people.

Huynh Binh Thai, head of the Nha Trang Bay Management Board, said the canoe, owned by Lam Hai Company, was carrying 25 Chinese tourists to Nha Trang Bay.

After the tourists got off the canoe to visit Hon Mun Island, two employees tied it up at the nearby Hon Mot Island when the fire broke out, the local media reported.

The two employees were immediately taken to the hospital following the accident.

The canoe had sustained serious damage. Thai stated that it had been certified for operation.

According to the Nha Trang Bay Border Post, the fire was caused by a fuel tank explosion. SGT
