The routes, operated by Bamboo Airways, will offer one return flight per route each day.

These are the first three air routes within the plan to build a transport system connecting Cat Bi airport in Hai Phong with other domestic and international airports in the near future.

The flight connecting Hai Phong with Quy Nhon is expected to take 1 hour and 35 minutes, while the Hai Phong – Ho Chi Minh City flight will take 2 hours and the Hai Phong – Can Tho flight will take 2 hours and 5 minutes.

On the occasion, Bamboo Airways opened ticket sales for the three new routes with prices starting from as little as VND200,000 for departures from May 10-16.

Standing Vice President of Bamboo Airways, Dang Tat Thang, said that the opening of the three routes is under the carrier’s plan to operate 37- 40 domestic and international routes in 2019, contributing to promoting transportation, trade and tourism between localities nationwide.

Chairman of Hai Phong People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Tung, said that Cat Bi airport welcomed 2.3 million passengers and handled more than 14,000 flights in 2018. The airport is expected to receive more than 2,5 million passengers and 16,000 flights in 2019, up 11% over 2018.

Five airlines are operating 12 routes to and from Cat Bi airport including three international routes connecting Hai Phong with the Republic of Korea, Thailand and China.
