On August 12, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City issued a dispatch that included statistics about the number of public employees quitting their jobs from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022. However, due to negligence, the document quoted the wrong date of January 1, 2022 instead of January 1, 2020.

The HCM City Department of Home Affairs said that the number of public employees resigning from January 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022 is 6,177.

On August 13, some local newspapers reported that on August 12, the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City sent an urgent dispatch to the Ministry of Home Affairs about the situation of public employees resigning, with 676 public servants and 5,501 public employees quitting in the first six months of 2022.

The two main reasons for this included problems associated with the salary regime and remuneration policy and promotion opportunities and work pressure.
