Before finding true happiness, Bi Bi (born 1996, originally from Binh Dinh, currently residing in Gia Lai) endured a painful three-year relationship.

Throughout that prolonged relationship, her former partner never introduced her to family or friends. Even when discussing a long-term future, he betrayed her, shattering her faith in genuine love and fidelity.

However, Bi Bi later met Le Minh Long (born 1996, native to Quang Ngai), a man who restored her belief in beautiful love stories.

In 2022, a friend created a dating profile for Bi Bi on social media. She paid little attention, assuming online connections were rarely trustworthy.

Curiosity struck one day as she checked the profile and found numerous messages, including one from Long, a 1.85-meter-tall man. The striking physical contrast initially piqued her interest.

After a few days of messaging, Long invited her out, driving 40km to meet her in person.

Their initial meeting brought contrasting reactions. Long radiated positive energy and conversed openly, while Bi Bi remained reserved and insecure following her past heartbreak.

"He was tall, handsome, and held a good job. I assumed he could easily find a better partner," Bi Bi recalled.

Unbeknownst to her, her delicate stature and gentle demeanor triggered his protective instincts. Following their first encounter, Long pursued her earnestly - messaging and calling daily, while traveling long distances on weekends to see her.

As Bi Bi gradually opened up, Long invited her out to meet his friends and colleagues. It was the first time she felt publicly acknowledged in a relationship - something her ex-partner had never done.

"Insecure about my height, I was hesitant to walk beside him. He asked, 'Are you never going to walk beside me for the rest of your life?' then took my hand and pulled me close. We looked mismatched and funny, drawing looks from passersby, but it warmed my heart," Bi Bi shared.

Shortly after they began dating, Long was assigned away on business. He promised to visit twice a month, though pandemic restrictions disrupted his plans. Nonetheless, during four months apart, he called and messaged dozens of times daily to bridge the distance.

"During that period, he took the initiative to connect with my family, frequently sending gifts to my parents and siblings.

“Through our conversations, he learned I had purchased a plot of land and owed a VND100 million bank loan. Without hesitation, he sent his savings to my parents to pay off the debt. I wondered how anyone could be so generous," Bi Bi shared.

Upon completing his assignment, Long went straight to see Bi Bi. His sincerity convinced her that she had found the right life partner.

A 'mismatched' yet sweet marriage

In late 2022, the couple married after eight months of dating. To this day, Bi Bi considers love unpredictable: a lengthy relationship ended in heartbreak, whereas a short-term acquaintance brought the trust needed for marriage.

Beside Long, Bi Bi feels confident and authentic. On her wedding day, she made no effort to artificially boost her height. Cherished by her husband, she stood comfortably beside him in her natural frame.

"During the wedding toast, he knelt down so I could easily reach his glass. Everyone burst out laughing, while I felt his thoughtful attention," Bi Bi shared.

The couple currently resides in HCMC with their two-year-old son, and Bi Bi is three months pregnant with their second child.

Their physical contrast creates unique daily moments. Even wearing high heels, Bi Bi barely reaches his chest. While Long effortlessly drapes an arm around her or picks her up, Bi Bi can never put her arm over his shoulder.

In crowds, Long constantly worries about losing track of his petite wife. Conversely, Bi Bi never fears losing him in a crowd due to his prominent 1.85-meter height. At concerts, he lifts her onto his shoulders to give her a clear view.

"Having a tall husband offers distinct perks. In carnival games, he wins plush toys easily thanks to his long reach.

At home, most items are arranged within my reach for convenience, while he adapts to anything. I feel prioritized even in the smallest details," Bi Bi shared.
