However, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in the late afternoon and evening, with some localized heavy rainfall. From August 31 to September 8, the weather will feature occasional showers and thunderstorms, with sunny skies during the day.
In Central Vietnam, the heatwave will continue to grip the region from August 30 to 31, with scorching conditions across most areas. However, the region will experience a gradual decrease in temperature from September 1 to 8, with occasional showers and thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening. Notably, the South Central Coast may see scattered thunderstorms and localized heavy rain on the evening of September 3.
The Central Highlands and Southern regions are forecasted to have moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms from August 30 to 31, with some areas experiencing very heavy rainfall. From September 1 to 8, these regions will continue to see scattered showers and thunderstorms, particularly in the late afternoon and evening.
In Hanoi, the weather from August 30 to 31 will be partly cloudy with no rain during the day, while late afternoon and evening may see scattered showers and thunderstorms. From September 1 to 5, dry conditions will persist with sunny days, but from September 6 to 8, there is a likelihood of scattered showers and thunderstorms, with localized heavy rainfall. Daytime temperatures in Hanoi are expected to range between 31-34°C, with nighttime lows of 26-28°C.
Looking ahead, this evening and tonight (August 30), scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecasted for the South Central Coast, with localized heavy rainfall ranging from 10-30mm, and some areas exceeding 70mm.
In Northern Vietnam, as well as in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, the Central Highlands, and the Southern region, scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected, with localized heavy rainfall between 20-40mm, and some areas exceeding 90mm (with most rain occurring in the late afternoon and evening).
The meteorological agency has warned that thunderstorms may bring lightning, strong winds, and the risk of flash floods, landslides, and flooding in low-lying areas.
