On November 10, the Cao Bang City Police Department reported the arrest of 29-year-old Sun Maolin for robbery.
At approximately 11 p.m. on November 9, a robbery occurred at a supermarket on Cu Street in Hop Giang Ward, Cao Bang City.
According to reports, Sun used a translation device to communicate with store employees before threatening a cashier with a knife, forcing them to open the cash drawer, and seizing a substantial amount of cash.
Immediately after receiving the report, the Criminal Police Team, in collaboration with the Security Team of the Cao Bang City Police, launched a nighttime search and arrested the suspect in Zone 3 of Ngoc Xuan Ward, Cao Bang City, within just 10 hours of the incident.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Sun Maolin is a resident of Tan Yu City, Jiangxi Province, China. Authorities recovered evidence, including the knife, translation device, stolen cash, and other related items.
At the police station, Sun confessed to the crime, stating that he illegally entered Vietnam on November 8 and carried out the robbery soon after.
The Cao Bang City Police are continuing to coordinate with other authorities and will transfer the case to the Provincial Criminal Police Department for further investigation and legal proceedings.
