Vietnamese model Emily Huynh, just 10 years old, captivated audiences at Beijing Fashion Week 2024, walking the runway in an outfit inspired by the legendary Saint Giong, a symbol of Vietnamese folklore.
Following the success of 2023, the Vietnamese children's fashion brand presented four collections at this prestigious event, including "Nine Layers of Clouds," "Vietnamese Fairy Tales," "12 Seasons of Flowers," and "A Dao."
These collections elegantly narrate Vietnamese cultural stories through fashion, with each design incorporating vibrant, sweet colors and elements of Vietnamese heritage.
The young models, including Emily, brought these stories to life on the runway, acting as "cultural ambassadors" for their nation. Despite their youth, they displayed confidence and grace, drawing admiration from the audience.
Emily Huynh, who has consistently impressed both domestic and international audiences, took on a leading role once again. Her outfit, designed by Nguyen Minh Cong and inspired by the legend of Saint Giong, showcased her ability to convey powerful cultural messages through fashion. Emily took the time to study each detail and accessory of the ensemble, ensuring that the outfit’s story was told with elegance and authenticity.
In addition to modeling, Emily is known for her diverse talents in dancing, singing, and hosting, which further enhances her on-stage presence.
Nguyen Minh Cong’s "Vietnamese Fairy Tales" collection brought a unique narrative to the event, with designs representing national legends such as the Dragon Lord and Saint Giong.
Commenting on the significance of Emily’s outfit, Nguyen Minh Cong said, "Saint Giong, a celebrated figure in Vietnamese folklore, represents the strength and spirit of youth. Through this design, I wanted to convey a message of resistance against foreign aggression and the importance of peace. It was heartwarming to see international audiences appreciate the national spirit woven into the design."
