The VNĐ2.3 trillion (US$100.9 million) facility is expected to be completed in 2020 or 2021.

Tran Thanh Thao, head of the Tien Giang Province Department of Health, said VNĐ1.7 trillion would come from central funds and the rest from the province’s coffers.

Construction of the 10-hectare hospital in Phuoc Thanh Commune will start at the beginning of next year.

The hi-tech facility would reduce the large number of patients who now go to HCM City for treatment, Thao said.
