The 11th fishery patrol between the coast guards of Vietnam and China in shared fishing grounds in the Gulf of Tokin ended successfully on April 23 after nearly a week, according to the Vietnam Maritime Police High Command.

The two sides carried out a parting ceremony at sea to end the significant joint patrol, marking the increasingly close relationship between the two countries’ sea patrol forces as well as contributing to consolidating the friendship between Vietnam and China.
According to the High Command, during the patrol, the forces checked fishing boats in the shared fishing areas, and organised exchanges and meetings to share experience in supervising fishing vessels.
The two sides coordinated in holding activities to boot mutual understanding in order to bolster confidence and promote cooperation between the two countries’ law enforcement forces at sea.
The joint patrol also helped create a peaceful environment and favourable conditions for fishermen of both countries to securely fish on the joint fishing waters in the Gulf of Tonkin.
