As many as 150 sets of remain believed to be Vietnamese soldiers that died in 1968 during the American War have been found at an airport in the southern province of Dong Nai.

The remains were detected at a grave situated at Bien Hoa Airport on April 13 after a search which lasted for nearly one month with the co-operation from the two American veterans Bob Connor and Martin E.Strones who fought in a battle at the airport.

Dong Nai Province’s army forces also found some objects of the soldiers such as pieces of cloth or shoes. Witnesses said these soldiers were killed during military campaigns in early 1968 during the Tet Offensive.

Dong Nai authorities have continued searching Bien Hoa Airport for the soldiers’ remains.

Between 1961 and 1971, the US army sprayed 80 million litres of Agent Orange containing 366 kilos of the dioxin over 76,800 square kilometres of southern Vietnam.

Between 2.1 to 4.8 million Vietnamese were directly exposed to Agent Orange and other herbicides during the war.
