Female student beaten and told to bow and lick legs

On October 27, 2016, a 2-minute video clip was posted on the internet showing two students beating and pulling one female student’s hair and kicking her with their feet. The female student was told by the friends to lick their legs.

The victim was 15 year old student of a high school in Nha Be district in HCMC. The cause of the fight was a problem in an emotional affair.

Six schoolboys beaten by teacher because of broken chair

On October 22, the parents of six students complained that their children were hit and bruised on the buttocks by a teacher with a ruler.

The six students at the Ben Van Primary & Secondary School made noise in the class when there was no teacher present and they were punished by the head teacher Lam Minh Hao.

Seventh grader beaten  

Five students crashed into another student on the way home and hit him repeatedly. The victim was a seventh grader at a secondary school in Minh Tan commune of Hai Duong province. 

The student reported that he had to pay VND5,000-6,000 to a group of five students for their breakfast. As the student did not have money to pay on October 10, the other students ‘punished’ the seventh grader. 

Babysitters beat, tie up and stuff child’s mouth with cloth

A camera installed at Son Ca School in Nam Ly Ward of Dong Hoi City showed that Le Thi Hoai Linh and Nguyen Tu Anh, babysitters at the schools, abused Cu Hoang Phi L, a 15-month-old boy.

The babysitters tied up the boy’s legs and hands, stuffed his mouth with cloth and hit him with a steel spoon.

The Dong Hoi City’s Police prosecuted the babysitters for ‘torturing other people’.

Male student commits suicide after being humiliated 

After being beaten and forced to kowtow in front of the school, Bui Doan Quang Huy, an eighth grader at Au Lau Secondary School in Yen Bai City, hanged himself at home.

Huy panicked after he saw a video clip posted on the internet showing him being beaten and humiliated.

Huy had a conflict with a seventh grader, who then reported the conflict to his parents. The mother of the seventh grader and a young man came to the school and hit Huy.

Female students slap friends’ faces with slipper

This happened in early October in Quynh Luu district of Nghe An province. Three 9th graders were beaten by eight girls because of a conflict, causing wounds.
