A resident in HCMC has created a version of the 2018 FIFA World Cup mascot, Zabivaka the Wolf, out of egg shells.
Nguyen Thanh Tam, a retired teacher from Go Vap District, produced the eggshell mascot version, his third so far, following the production of his first version in 2010 and his second in 2014.
“Egg shells can be turned into works of art under skilful hands and creative imaginations,” said Tam, who has owned his collection of eggshell creations for some 16 years.
He explained how he joined together two quail eggshells to create a ball and then painted it to give it a finishing touch.
Creating the mascot out of egg shells, he said, had its own challenges, especially when designing the mane, which was first made of clay and then sprinkled with ground egg shells.
