Vietnam Securities Depository (VSD) has announced that it issued 281 securities trading codes to foreign investors during September.

Codes were issued to 31 institutional investors and 250 individual investors



VSD also agreed to alter information regarding 35 foreign investors (25 individual and ten institutional investors) and cancel the securities trading code of five institutional investors.

In the third quarter, VSD has issued securities trading codes to 825 foreign investors (714 individuals and 111 institutional investors). It also canceled 13 trading codes - four of individuals and nine of institutional investors.

Foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam in the first nine months hit a record $25.48 billion, up 34.3 per cent year-on-year, according to the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA) at the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

There were 1,844 new projects, with registered capital of $14.56 billion, up 30.4 per cent year-on-year, while 878 projects added capital of $6.75 billion in total, up 28.3 per cent.

FDI projects disbursed $12.5 billion in the period, an increase of 13.4 per cent.

Foreign investors are investing in 18 sectors, with manufacturing and processing attracting the most, with total capital of $12.64 billion, accounting for 49.6 per cent of the total.
