With the contribution of more than 30 artists, the nearly 2km mural road in Hai An commune was completed after nearly one month of continuous work. This achievement marks the longest painting in Nam Dinh province to date.
Recognized as a model new rural commune in 2022, Hai An is the first such commune in Hai Hau district, Nam Dinh. To enhance the landscape, beautify the living space, and transform the face of the homeland, the local government and residents collaborated to create a vibrant mural road.
The murals, totaling about 700, portraying various themes such as scenic spots, historical figures, and production activities, celebrate the love for homeland and country. Among the notable artworks are paintings of President Ho Chi Minh and Hero Vu Xuan Thieu.
"The chosen route for the mural road has beautiful terrain, flanked by two small rivers, creating a scenic path that resembles a winding carp," said Pham Ngoc Uynh, Vice Chairman of Hai An commune People's Committee. "With the enthusiastic response of the people and the cooperation of over 30 local artists and art teachers, the mural road was completed in nearly a month."
Funding for the project primarily came from community contributions. Artist Nguyen Minh Tiep expressed his excitement about the transformation of his hometown and the opportunity to contribute to its beautification.
The high-quality paint used has ensured that the murals remain vibrant, with minimal fading even after nearly two years. The mural road has become a popular check-in point for young people, promoting the image of Hai An.
Since the new rural model movement, Hai An commune has seen significant improvements, with clean, spacious roads and colorful murals replacing mossy, dirty walls. Local resident Pham Thi Tuoi noted the positive impact on cleanliness and the pride felt by the community.
