3,500 students attend record-breaking career fair  hinh 0 The challenge to launching a great career is getting your foot in the door, said Nguyen Viet Dung, director of HCM City Department of Science and Technology, in his opening address.

It's a lot easier when someone holds that door open for you.

The Department held the doors to a bright future wide open on October 7 for nearly 3,500 students who were searching for full-time jobs or internships during the opening day of the two-day event.

The students, however, also did their part to impress employers.

Companies such as Vietnam Forbes, TECHINASIA, The Atlantic, Channel News Asia, VTV1, Cafebiz were among the nearly 100 employers who were on hand in pursuit of the nation’s best and brightest.

They found potential employees who were driven-and had the resumes to prove it.

A lot of the students have really great resumes, said an employer at the event. They know what they're talking about, and they seem really prepared. A lot of times we'll go to career fairs where people show up and don't really know what they want.

The students that showed up today know what they're looking for in a job and a career.

A number of students on the prowl for internships or full-time jobs reported they were blown away by the Hatch! Fair. The amount of companies that are here is unbelievable, said one student. I’m excited. I have gotten a lot of leads for many good jobs.
