More than 50 percent of IT companies need to recruit heavily in 2019

The awards ceremony for Sao Khue Awards 2019 yesterday in Hanoi.

 

 

After being launched for 3 months, Sao Khue Awards 2019 received 134 nominations from 96 enterprises, an increase of 35 percent compared to the previous year. 30 of these nominations are those making use of new technologies of Industry 4.0. The contest welcomed the participation of nearly 20 businesses which develop software, especially those partnering up with Japanese counterparts.

After the serious evaluation in the preliminary and live presentation rounds, the judge board decided to qualified 94 products and services as receivers of Sao Khue Awards 2019, 10 of which were selected for the Top 10 Sao Khue Awards 2019 based on such criteria as social-economic effects, brand name prestige, revenues, market share, and innovative technology use.

Statistics show that the takeovers of these 94 products or services can reach over VND9,298 billion (approx. $399 million).

Vietnam is experiencing the digital transformation process, especially in finance, transportation, agriculture, and tourism. The national government as well as local authorities are carrying out the task of constructing an electronic government, aiming at becoming a digital government. In addition, more than 30 cities nationwide are entering the process to build a smart city using new technologies.

As a result, IT and communications businesses have to focus more on researching and developing suitable products to serve this urgent demand from the market, speeding up Industry 4.0 in Vietnam.

In the ceremony, Dr. Truong Gia Binh, President of VINASA and Head of the organization board of this award, stated that his organization is trying its best to renovate IT activities and this Sao Khue Awards in particular in order to help IT businesses in Vietnam to timely seize the chances offered by Industry 4.0 to reduce the gap with other countries while achieving breakthroughs in sales and growth.

Since the first time in 2003, Sao Khue Awards, sponsored by the Ministry of Information and Communications, has become the most prestigious of the IT field in Vietnam. It has delivered awards to 747 best domestic products and services, contributing to guiding the IT market and customers and being an effective channel to link businesses together.

Taking part in the event were leaders of the Ministry of Information and Communications, the National Assembly Committee on Science, Technology and Environment, the Hanoi People’s Committee, along with more than 500 delegates who are managers of state units and software businesses in the nation. SGGP
