During the meeting with South Korea's Minister of Science and ICT, Lee Jong-ho, both sides exchanged information and discussed strategies and policies for developing digital infrastructure, the digital economy, ICT industry, and digital innovation amid the widespread application of artificial intelligence (AI).

The two ministers discussed directions and priorities to promote cooperation, leveraging each country's strengths, and creating favorable conditions for organizations and businesses to implement collaborative research projects, develop new technologies, and train high-quality human resources, particularly for the semiconductor industry.

Regarding digital government development, during a meeting with the President's Committee on Digital Platform Government (DPG), both sides shared their national policies and programs on digital transformation and implementing digital government in each country.

Within the framework of a Presidential Committee on Digital Platform Government, South Korea has mobilized the participation of organizations and businesses in designing, building, and implementing digital transformation programs for central and local government agencies, establishing Task Forces to carry out specific projects, and promoting the connection of systems and data among agencies.

During the meeting with the Korea National ICT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), the delegation was briefed on specific policies and programs supporting digital technology companies and startups, with a particular focus on AI technology development and applications.

Regarding AI application in the digital economy, the South Korean government has focused on building a National Computing Center to promote AI applications across sectors. The National Information Society Agency (NIA) shared programs and initiatives supporting AI applications and digital platform development for ministries, sectors, and localities in South Korea.

In terms of information security, during a meeting with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), both sides exchanged experiences in organizing and ensuring information safety, serving digital transformation, combating online fraud, and developing information security standards and surveillance camera security standards.

During the visit, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung visited and worked with Seoul Cyber University (SCU) and attended the opening ceremony of the Joint Training Office between the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) and SCU. Minister Nguyen Manh Hung praised the cooperation program between PTIT and SCU, especially in organizing training, operating, and producing teaching content following a modern e-learning university model integrating digital technology and AI.

During the visit, the delegation also met with Korea Post, sharing management experiences to develop and maintain a healthy competitive postal market, digital transformation, and improving the efficiency of postal and logistics businesses.

During the stay in South Korea, the Ministry of Information and Communications coordinated with the Ministry of Science and ICT of South Korea, the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), and associations from both countries to organize the Vietnam-Korea Digital Forum 2024. The program included representatives from both ministries, the Vietnamese Ambassador to South Korea, ICT associations, and technology enterprises from Vietnam and South Korea.

The forum provided an opportunity for Vietnam's ICT business community to network, share needs, and seek cooperation opportunities with international partners in the South Korean market. At the forum, Minister Nguyen Manh Hung awarded Certificates of Merit to companies with significant investment and business activities in the South Korean market, including FPT, CMC, and NTQ.

Minister Nguyen Manh Hung's visit to South Korea has opened a new chapter in information and communication cooperation, contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and South Korea.
