The event is directed by the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, with coordination from Vietnam Television, the Hanoi People’s Committee and other relevant agencies.
It also serves as the opening performance for the 2026 series “Tu hao la nguoi Viet Nam” (Proud to be Vietnamese), marking major national milestones including the 51st anniversary of national reunification, the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory and the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh.
According to general director Nguyen Trung Dung, the program is conceived as a call to awaken national pride and a spirit of contribution among Vietnamese people. With an expected audience of around 40,000, “Am vang To quoc” will unfold in two parts.
The first segment, lasting 90 minutes, features three chapters titled “Truong ca tren trong dong” (Epic on the bronze drum), “Am vang lich su” (Echoes of History) and “Khat vong Viet Nam” (Aspiration of Vietnam). It will be broadcast live on VTV1. The second segment, running 60 minutes and streamed on VTVgo, is designed for younger audiences and will conclude with a fireworks display lighting up the Hanoi sky.
At the heart of the production is a modern artistic approach built around the image of the bronze drum as a unifying symbol. Large-scale live staging is combined with symphonic music, pop and rock, alongside advanced stagecraft and visual technology. Together, these elements recreate the flow of revolutionary history and the richness of Vietnamese culture within a layered emotional space.
The program brings together artists known for revolutionary and classical music, including Dương Minh Duc, Ha Thuy, Hoang Tung and Vu Thang Loi, alongside singers such as Linh Chi, Viet Danh, Bui Le Man, Ha Quynh Nhu, Thanh Phong and Nhat Huyen.
Joining them are widely popular names like Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Anh Tu, Duong Hoang Yen, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Lam Bao Ngoc and Pham Anh Khoa, as well as rock bands Buc Tuong and Ngu Cung.
The musical dimension is further enriched by a symphony orchestra and Thanh Am Xanh Band under the baton of conductor Dong Quang Vinh, creating a diverse soundscape that bridges tradition and modernity.
Notably, the program will also feature performances by the mobile police cavalry, border guard soldiers and trained service dogs, adding a striking layer of realism and symbolic power to the staging.
With its grand scale, contemporary production and consistent political message, “Am vang To quoc” is expected to stand out as one of the most significant cultural and artistic events of 2026. Beyond honoring history and national identity, it aims to nurture patriotism, inspire dedication and reinforce a shared sense of responsibility in building and protecting the nation.
