The student whose clavicle was broken
On March 20, 12th graders at Tran Nhan Tong High School were hit on the head by a block of mortar from the ceiling of a classroom. Three students were hospitalized.

Nguyen Thanh Long, 29, an environment technology majoring student of Hutech, a university in HCMC, died after a block of concrete fell on him.
Social organizations have voiced concern about the increase in the number of accidents recently, pointing out that, in most cases, accidents occurred because of poor facilities, and schools and relevant parties had failed to upgrade their facilities.
In April 2017, students at V501 lecture hall at Trade University in Cau Giay district, Hanoi panicked when a ceiling fan fell, injuring two students. The students said all of the fans in lecture halls were too old.
Le Thi Huong, headmaster at Krong Ana Preschool, also admitted that the facilities at the preschool were transferred by the Krong Ana Primary School which had not been upgraded in the last 10 years.
Lawyer Vu Tien Vinh, director of Bao An Law Firm, suggested that new regulations need to be created on assessing the quality of public works, including schools, hospitals and terminals.
