Of the figure, agriculture, forestry and aquatic exports reached US$18.8 billion, US$14.4 billion and US$9.4 billion, respectively, up 7.2 percent, 10.7 percent and 32.7 percent, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development reported.

During the reviewed period, eight categories of products recorded the export value exceeding US$2 billion each, including coffee (US$3.3 billion), rubber (US$2.8 billion), rice (US$2.9 billion), tra fish (US$2.1 billion), shrimp (US$3.8 billion), timber (US$13.5 billion), fruits and vegetables (US$2.8 billion), and cashew (US$2.6 billion).

The U.S. remained the largest importer of Viet Nam's farm products with US$11.4 billion, accounting for 25.4 percent. It was followed by China (US$8.3 billion), Japan (US$3.5 billion) and the Republic of Korea (US$2.1 billion).

In the January-October period, the nation spent US$37.2 billion on importing farm products, up 5.8 percent compared to the same period last year./.
