The supersized Vietnamese sandwich

Max McFarlin from the US is a well-known blogger among the trekking tourist community. He has a YouTube channel with 690,000 followers. The man has lived in Vietnam for more than four years, mostly in HCM City.

The American blogger has posted a video showing how he tried a number of super sized food in HCM City, triggering viewers’ curiosity. He has introduced a big sandwich priced at VND1.2 million.

Max said when seeking eateries in Tan Binh district, he was attracted by a roast pork shop, which is always crowded year round.

Max decided to order one kilogram of roast pork, one kilogram of roast duck and 1 kilogram of organ meat to eat with a huge loaf of bread. Three workers at the shop had to work together to finish the task. Cucumbers, sauce, roasted meats, onions, and chili were inserted inside the loaf of bread.

When completed, the sandwich weighed five kilograms. Max said it was priced at VND1.26 million.

Trying a piece of roasted meat, he said it was strong flavored and crispy. With such a flavor, it wouldn’t be a surprise that the shop existed for so many years

Max explained that he bought the giant loaf to share the bread with people. After the sandwich was packaged, Max gave it to a sanitary worker he met on the street.

He said he wanted to cut the loaf of bread into small pieces and invite many people, but he changed his mind as he believed that the sanitary worker would share the bread with relatives and friends.

The shop specializes in roasted meat and has been open for more than 20 years.

A worker at the shop said 4-6 giant loaves of bread are always displayed at its four affiliates.
