VietNamNet Bridge – Alan Wayne Short, 54, a US citizen, on July 17 found his 79-year-old roommate Wirtse Willard Raymond dead on a bed in a hotel in Da Nang City.

According to witnesses, the night before the two American men hired a room on Nguyen Tat Thanh Road, Thanh Khe district, Da Nang.

The next morning, Short tried to wake his roommate up but Raymond did not answer.

He immediately called the receptionist, who reported the death of the foreign tourist to local police.

Based on scene examination and autopsy, Da Nang police said that the American man died of disease.

According to the roommate, Raymond had been in Da Nang for several months travelling. Over a month ago, he purchased a house in Thanh Khe district under the name of a local.

Recently the 79-year-old man decided to advertise to sell the house to return to the US.

The man was said to have a history of diabetes.
