123 trees will be chopped down or relocated to make way for heavy traffic near Tan Son International Nhat Airport

These trees are on Hoang Minh Giam Street in Phu Nhuan District and Hoang Hoa Tham Street in Tan Binh District.

The move is aimed to have more space for expanding the two streets linking Tan Son Nhat International Airport area which often faces serious traffic jams despite the recent opening of several overpasses.

Around 100 trees will be felled down, while the rest will be moved to HCM City University of Agriculture and Forestry for being taken care of. The work will be carried out between August and December this year.

The wood from the chopped down trees will be used for making public products such as tables, chairs and sculptures.
