The Regional Maritime Search and Rescue Co-ordination Centre No 2 (MRCC2) said the boat (QB 91386TS) from Quảng Bình suddenly stopped on Monday night.

The vessel became flooded with water as it was buffeted by rough seas.

A rescue ship sent from the centre towed the boat back to port in Đà Nẵng at about 2pm.

On January 16, 11 fishermen from Đà Nẵng were also saved after their engine broke down.

According to MRCC2, rescue ships and staff from the centre have salvaged six fishing boats carrying a total of 33 sailors from Quảng Nam, Nam Định, Bình Định, Quảng Bình and Đà Nẵng since early this month. — VNS
