A worker died after an antenna tower in the Mekong Delta province of Vinh Long collapsed on Thursday.

An antenna tower collapses, killing one. 

The antenna tower of the television station of Mang Thít District, located in Cai Nhum Town, collapsed at around 10.15am while four workers were removing old antenna towers to install new ones, Le Thanh Bình, acting chairman of the People’s Committee of Cái Nhum Town, said.

The antenna tower suddenly collapsed while two workers were working high on the tower. 

One worker died at the scene while the other sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the local hospital for emergency treatment. 

The workers are from the Mekong Delta province of Tra Vinh.

The case is under investigation. — VNS
