People planning to buy an apartment in HCM City might have to think twice due to the likelihood of disputes with developers, which have been proliferating in recent times.
Local demand for real estate products with long-term ownership exceeds supply as most of Vietnamese people prefer this kind of deal, experts said during a recent conference.
The Ministry of Construction has pointed out five major causes of disputes between investors and customers at apartment buildings.
VietNamNet Bridge – An amended Housing Law draft would restrict foreign ownership to no more than 30 per cent of apartments in a building, or 250 houses in a ward.
VietNamNet Bridge – Real estate inventory has decreased more than 26 percent compared with the first quarter 2013 quarter, mainly in the segment of small and medium sized apartments, said Minister of Construction Trinh Dinh Dung.
A lot of luxurious villas worth millions of dollars in Hanoi, which have been left deserted, have reluctantly become the places for street noodle shops or car cleaning workshops.
