The Da Nang Declaration "Create New Dynamism, Fostering A Shared Future" includes five contents.

Also at the closing ceremony, Vietnam – the host country of APEC 2017 – handed over the role of Chairman of APEC Year 2018 to Papua New Guinea.

After that President Tran Dai Quang, Chairman of APEC Vietnam 2017 hosted the press conference to announce the results of the 25th APEC Economic Leaders’s Meeting.

The President stressed that the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting was a success. After nearly 20 years as an APEC member, Vietnam is proud to once again take on the role of Chairmanship of APEC’s most important meeting of the year.

9h30: The spouses of APEC leaders paid a visit to Hoi An ancient town (Quang Nam).

This tour was part of a series of events on the sidelines of the APEC Summit 2017. The welcoming ceremony was held at the Cultural Center of Hoi An.

Hoi An old town was flooded deeply a few days ago, but the streets were cleaned up.

Morning of November 11: APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting opens 

The APEC Summit 2017 entered the final working day with two events: the 25th APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting and the closing press conference.

Under the theme of "Creating New Dynamism, Fostering the Shared Future", the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting opened the first private session under the chairmanship of President Tran Dai Quang.

The evening of November 10 

President Tran Dai Quang, President of the APEC Vietnam 2017 and his spouse Nguyen Thi Hien, hosted the official reception and Gala dinner for APEC leaders and their spouses.

APEC leaders, in the official welcome ceremony, wore APEC costumes designed by the host country, showing their own characteristics. This was a special gift of the Vietnamese President to the leaders of the 21 APEC member economies.

The afternoon of 10/11: The Vietnamese President chairs the Dialogue between APEC leaders and ABAC

The dialogue between APEC leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council (APAC) took place in Da Nang.

Speaking to APEC leaders and the APEC Business Advisory Council, the President stressed the importance of this Dialogue, which took place one day before the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting. 

President Quang said that this is the time to find new dynamism to sustain growth and to build a new vision for APEC's future.

In the afternoon of the same day, President Tran Dai Quang also had bilateral meetings with economic leaders attending the 25th APEC Summit and released joint statements.

The aircraft carrying Indonesian President Joko Widodo and his spouse landed at Da Nang International Airport.

Indonesia joined APEC in November 1989.

All leaders of 21 member economies attending the APEC Summit 2017 arrive in Da Nang. In addition, three guests from Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar hold bilateral meetings and talks with some of the leaders of APEC member economies.

US President Donald Trump delivers a speech at the APEC CEO Summit.

The US president mentioned places he had visited during his Asia tour before coming to Vietnam, such as Japan, South Korea and China.

"I want to mention those affected by Hurricane Damrey. The Americans are praying for you and look forward to your recovery in the coming months. Our hearts are open to Vietnamese people who suffered from this terrible storm," said Trump.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and his spouse arrived in Da Nang to take part in the APEC summit.

Earlier, on November 7, a Korean military transport aircraft C-130 landed at Da Nang airport carrying vehicles, equipment and super armored vehicles to serve the Korean President during the visit to Vietnam.

South Korea joined APEC in November 1989.

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives in Da Nang.

Chinese President Xi Jinping left Beijing in the morning for Vietnam for the APEC Summit 2017.

After attending the summit in Da Nang, Xi Jinping will pay a State visit to Laos and Vietnam in Hanoi.

The specialized aircraft of General Secretary, President Xi Jinping landed at Da Nang airport in the afternoon.

In Da Nang, the President of China attends the APEC Summit. As scheduled, Xi Jinping delivers a keynote speech at the APEC CEO Summit.

On November 12, Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives in Hanoi on a state visit to Vietnam at the invitation of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and President Tran Dai Quang.

This was Xi's first overseas tour since the 19th Congress of Communist Party of China where he was re-elected General Secretary.

China joined APEC in November 1991.

Air Force One of US President Donald Trump landed at the Da Nang International Airport at noon.

Earlier, on his personal Facebook page, Trump posted his work schedule in Da Nang.

While attending the APEC Summit in Da Nang, the US President presented the US vision on the free and open space in the Indian-Pacific Ocean, emphasizing the importance of the region.

In Hanoi, the President discusses with senior Vietnamese leaders how to strengthen the Vietnam-US comprehensive partnership.

The US joined APEC in November 1989.

At the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang, the Cambodian PM Samdech Techo Hun Sen arrived in Da Nang at noon to attend the APEC 2017 Summit.

Cambodia, though not an APEC member, supports the initiative to hold a dialogue between leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and APEC.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Hun Sen meets with President Tran Dai Quang and attends a reception with Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The aircraft carrying Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau landed at Da Nang airport.

Prior to attending the APEC Summit in Da Nang, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau made an official visit to Vietnam.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau adopted the Joint Declaration on the Establishment of a Comprehensive Partnership between the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and Canada.

Vietnam and Canada continue exchanges of visits by senior leaders, regular dialogue between high-level officials of the two Governments; promote close cooperation in multilateral institutions; support the peaceful settlement of disputes in the East Sea; make efforts to build an ASEAN Community that upholds the rule of law, is strong and prosperous; and coordinate to respond to global challenges.

At 10:15 am, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and his spouse landed at Da Nang Airport.

This is the second time Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has come to Vietnam for the APEC Summit.

Welcoming Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at the airport was Mr. Phung Xuan Nha, Minister of Education and Training.

During his visit to Vietnam in March 2017, when he met with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, the Sigapore Prime Minister emphasized that Singapore always attaches importance to strengthening multifaceted cooperation with Vietnam, willing to share experiences with Vietnam in the areas that are Singapore’s strengths.

Singapore joined APEC in November 1989.

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in Da Nang on an IL-96 aircraft in the morning.

President Putin was welcomed by Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee Truong Quang Nghia, Minister of Education and Training Phung Xuan Nha.

This was the second time President Putin has come to Vietnam for APEC, the first in 2006, when he was president in his first term.

In Da Nang, Putin did not speak at conferences, but attended meetings within the framework of the APEC Summit and conducted bilateral meetings on the sidelines.

Putin meets with Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, President of China Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

Before arriving in Vietnam on Nov. 7, President Putin directed the Cabinet to grant $5 million to help Vietnam deal with the damage caused by Hurricane Damrey along with 40 tons of humanitarian aid.

Russia joined APEC in November 1998.

The specialized aircraft of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe landed at Da Nang International Airport.

On the agenda of Prime Minister Abe at the APEC Summit, he delivers a speech on Nov. 10 at the APEC CEO Summit.

On the 11th, Mr Abe attends the meeting of leaders of 21 APEC economies.

Japan joined APEC in November 1989.

The specialized aircraft of 37-year-old Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern arrived at the Da Nang airport this afternoon.

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turbull arrived in Danang.

At 6pm, the Australian Royal Air Force carrying the Australian delegation to the APEC Summit, led by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, landed at Da Nang Airport.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull promotes trade deals with partners inside and outside the region.

Australia joined APEC in November 1989.

The Sultanate of Brunei also attended APEC Summit 2006 in Vietnam.

During the talks in August 2016, President Tran Dai Quang and the Sultan of Brunei agree to increase cooperation in all fields, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment in order to reach the target of two-way trade of $500 million by 2025.

Brunei joined APEC in November 1989.

Malaysian Prime Minister praises Vietnam's efforts to hold APEC 2017.

On the same day, President Tran Dai Quang held bilateral talks with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak.

At the meeting, the Malaysian Prime Minister said he highly appreciated Vietnam's efforts in organizing APEC 2017 in general and the APEC Summit 2017 in particular and thanked Vietnam for its generous and thoughtful welcome to the Malaysian delegation.

Malaysia joined APEC in November 1989.

The Myanmar delegation arrived at the airport. The Myanmar delegation is led by Aung San Suu Kyi, senior adviser to the Myanmar government.

Though Myanmar is not an APEC member, Suu Kyi attends the summit at the invitation of President Tran Dai Quang.

The plane of Fuerza Aérea Mexicana landed at Da Nang International Airport.

A few days before leaving for Vietnam, Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto wrote an article affirming that Vietnam and Mexico are linking the Pacific. President Peña Nieto emphasized the tremendous potential of cooperation between Vietnam and Mexico. Bilateral relations have developed rapidly in all aspects.

Mr. Nieto praised the achievements Vietnam made in 30 years of renovation.

Mexico will continue with Vietnam and the remaining members of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) to continue negotiations.

Mexican President said he believed that APEC Vietnam 2017 will promote the dynamism of the region.

Peruvian President came to Da Nang on a commercial flight.

Peruvian President Pablo Kuczynski landed at Da Nang airport on a commercial flight.

President Pablo Kuczynski attends a dialogue on trade borders within APEC-CEO Summit on 10/11. This was a dialogue on the future liberalization of trade and how trade agreements can promote inclusive growth.

Hong Kong (Hong Kong) Special Administrative Region leader Carlin Lam led a delegation of the Hong Kong economy on a commercial flight to Da Nang.

Having become the 4th Head of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (China) on July 1, this was the first time Ms. Lam attended the APEC Summit.

After attending the APEC CEO Summit on November 9, she attended the Female Political Leaders’ Roundtable on November 10, the meeting of APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), and the Informal Dialogue between ASEAN and APEC .

Ms. Lam is one of three female leaders at APEC Summit 2017, alongside Chilean President Michelle Bachelet Jeria and New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.

Hong Kong joined APEC in November 1991.

Many specialised aircraft landed at Da Nang airport.

The aircraft carrying leaders of the following 10 APEC economies landed in Da Nang today: Mexico, Peru, Hong Kong - China, Myanmar, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, and Japan.

The Airbus 319 is a specialized aircraft of the Royal Malaysian Air Force.

Earlier, many military transport aircraft carrying equipment for the visit to Vietnam of heads of state landed at Danang airport.

Morning November 9 

President Tran Dai Quang presided over the ceremony to welcome Chilean President Michelle Bachelet. Chilean President paid a state visit to Vietnam before flying to Da Nang to attend the APEC Summit.

President Tran Dai Quang presided over the ceremony to welcome President of Chile.

After the ceremony, Ms Bachelet held talks with the Vietnamese President. The same day, before leaving for Da Nang, the Chilean President had meetings with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

In 2006, Ms. Bachelet came to Vietnam to attend the APEC Summit.

The special aircraft of President Rodrigo Duterte and the Philippine delegation to Vietnam to attend APEC summit landed at Da Nang International Airport.

Minister Truong Minh Tuan welcomed the delegation at the airport.

As expected, the Philippine President will speak at the APEC CEO Summit and may meet bilaterally with some APEC leaders.

The Philippines joined APEC in November 1989.

Prime Minister of APEC 2018 Papua New Guinea arrived in Da Nang.

Papua New Guinea joined APEC in November 1993.

Prime Minister Peter O'Neill will attend several meetings at the APEC Summit Week in Da Nang. He will also invite leaders of APEC economies to the APEC 2018 in the country.

Papua New Guinea is a country located in the southwest Pacific with a population of 8 million. The economy is based mainly on agriculture, forestry and fishing.

At noon of November 8, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived in Noi Bai airport to start a State visit to Vietnam from 8-9/11. The same day, at the Presidential Palace, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc held a ceremony to welcome the Prime Minister of Canada.

The Prime Minister of Canada visited President Ho Chi Minh's stilt house; met with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Tran Dai Quang and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau left Hanoi for Ho Chi Minh City on 9/11, where he took part in activities as well as a visit to the city. He arrived in Da Nang on November 10 to attend the APEC Economic Leaders' Week.

November 7

 

The first high-ranking delegation arrived in Da Nang to attend APEC Summit.

On the afternoon of 7 November, a Boeing 737-8SH carrying the delegation of Taipei (China) landed at Da Nang airport to attend the APEC Summit2017.

The head of Taiwan-China delegation to APEC this year is Soong Chu-yu, a close adviser to leader Tsai Ing-wen.

Unlike other member economies, the representative of Taipei (China) attending the APEC summit is designated a ministerial character.

This is the second time in a row, Mr. Soong Chu-yu led the delegation of Taipei (China) at the APEC Summit.
