A reliable source has confirmed that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max will be equipped with an advanced cooling system to boost performance.

According to Instant Digital (China), Apple’s next-generation iPhone 17 Pro series will incorporate vapor chamber cooling technology, significantly improving heat dissipation and maintaining stable performance.

Vapor chamber cooling: A game-changer for iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max

Vapor chamber cooling is already common in premium Android smartphones. By distributing heat across a larger surface, this technology prevents overheating and ensures consistent performance - an essential advantage for compact and slim devices.

This isn't the first time rumors about Apple adopting vapor chamber technology have surfaced. In January, Chinese tech news site MyDrivers claimed that all iPhone 17 models (including iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max) would feature this cooling system.

However, Instant Digital now asserts that only the iPhone 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max - expected to be powered by the A19 Pro chip - will benefit from this advanced cooling technology.

The source added: "With the enhanced thermal management of the A19 Pro, the device can sustain high performance under heavy workloads with minimal throttling."

Will iPhone 17 feature a redesigned front?

Contrary to previous rumors, Instant Digital claims that the iPhone 17 lineup will not see major front design changes. Instead, Apple’s 2025 models will focus on internal upgrades and rear panel redesigns, while the notch and bezels are expected to remain the same.

Earlier reports suggested that the iPhone 17 Pro Max might have a smaller Dynamic Island. Analyst Jeff Pu predicted that Apple could introduce metalens technology for Face ID, reducing the size of the Dynamic Island significantly.

However, industry expert Ming-Chi Kuo stated in January that Dynamic Island will remain unchanged in the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple first introduced Dynamic Island with iPhone 14 Pro in 2022 and has since extended it to iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 models, except for the entry-level iPhone 16e.

A radical new camera design

According to recent leaks, Apple is planning a significant redesign of the iPhone 17 Pro’s rear camera system. Instead of the familiar square camera bump, Apple may introduce a horizontal aluminum camera bar spanning the device's width.

This new camera design is also expected to appear on the iPhone 17 Air, a new ultra-thin model that will reportedly replace the Plus variant in Apple’s lineup. Unlike the Pro models, the iPhone 17 Air may feature a single-lens rear camera.

Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 17 is likely to retain the existing camera layout found on iPhone 16, further distinguishing the Pro models from standard models.

Although Apple’s September 2025 launch event is still months away, leaks about the upcoming iPhone 17 lineup continue to surface across various sources.

Apple’s 2025 iPhone lineup is expected to include:

iPhone 17 (standard model)

iPhone 17 Pro

iPhone 17 Pro Max

iPhone 17 Air (a new ultra-thin variant)

While rumors have also mentioned an iPhone 17 Ultra, it remains unlikely that Apple will introduce both an iPhone 17 Air and iPhone 17 Ultra simultaneously.
