Giang, who is also member of the Central Military Commission and Deputy Defence Minister, suggested that Vietnam and China should further cooperation in diverse areas, including in national defence which was set by the two countries’ Party, State and army leaders during high-ranking visits, thus contributing to maintaining peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
Sheng, for his part, informed the host about the recent signing of a border defence cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese and Chinese defence ministries under the witness of Vietnamese General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong and General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping.
He also briefed Giang about the outcomes of talks between the Chinese delegation and the Vietnamese Border Guard High Command delegation on border defence management.
Earlier, Giang also received a delegation from the Kaysone Phomvihane Defence Academy led by Director Keosouphan Inthavongsa.-VNA
