Around 1,000 traffic police across Vietnam have been deployed to ensure traffic safety and escort delegates during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit week in Danang City next month.

The Ministry of Public Security on October 15 held a ceremony to introduce the officers who have mobilised to ensuring traffic safety for the upcoming APEC Summit week.  

Lieutenant Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, said that highly appreciated of the traffic police’s efforts for jointly ensuring security during recent APEC activities.

At the ceremony, the police officers made an oath to ensure security and traffic order for the 2017 APEC Summit week. They also gave financial support to recent flood victims.

Police and military units must work with one another to ensure absolute safety during the week, Nam noted, saying that they have to be on high alert.

Some 20 female police officers will participate in the welcoming of APEC delegates at local event centres.
