The Investigation Police Agency under the Ministry of Public Security has issued an arrest warrant for three suspects on charges of appropriating property illegally, valued at VNĐ500 billion (US$22 million) at OceanBank’s branch in Hai Phong City.
The property was valued at VNĐ500 billion (US$22 million).
The three accused are Tran Thi Kim Chi, 33, former director of OceanBank’s Hai Phong branch and a resident of Nam Dinh Province; Le Vuong Hoang, 26; and Nguyen Thi Minh Hue, 27. Both Hoang and Hue are former officers at the branch and from Thai Binh Province.
The three suspects were determined to have fled this month, the agency said.
The defendants were investigated and wanted for related violations at OceanBank’s Hai Phong branch in connection with the mobilisation of savings accounts.
Some 20 customers, who have deposit books with the money amounting to $22 million, were not included in the bank’s database.
Specifically, information on the deposit cards did not match information recorded in the core banking system on the sender’s name and the amount of savings.
