A wide variety of unique art programmes will be staged in the capital city of Hanoi on the evening of December 31 to celebrate New Year 2019.
A programme celebrating the Year 2018
An annual Countdown party, jointly held by the Hanoi municipal People’s Committee, Vietnam Television and Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, will take place at the Ly Thai To Flower Garden from 10pm on December 31 to 0:15am on January 1, 2019.
At the programme, video clips reviewing the country’s achievements as well as an exchange with special characters, such as Vietnam national football team’s players, Miss Universe Vietnam 2017 H'Hen Nie and the gold medalist at International Biology Olympiad for two consecutive years Nguyen Phuong Thao, will contribute to inspire national pride and optimism among audiences.
The event will also feature attractive performances by well-known artists as well as the Vietnam national football team’s players.
Before the programme is broadcast live, a jubilant rock concert, with both classic and new songs by famous Vietnamese rock bands, is expected to delight audiences.
At the Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc and August Revolution Squares, art programmes themed ‘Celebrating New Spring’ will gather Maius Philharmonic – a Vietnamese independent orchestra, along with numerous singers.
In addition to countdown parties, numerous major art programmes will be held in different locations throughout the city, including in front of the My Dinh National Stadium, Hang Day Stadium, Thong Nhat Park and in front of the Hanoi Drama Theatre.
Districts and towns around the city will also host many programmes to help city dwellers to salute the New Year.
