Vietnam's national football team has emerged as the fairest team of the group stage at the ASEAN Cup 2024, while Indonesia was labeled the "dirtiest" by tournament statistics.

The ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) reported that after four group stage matches, Vietnam committed 39 fouls, received only two yellow cards, and no red cards, earning the title of the team with the fewest disciplinary actions.

The two yellow cards were given to Thanh Chung (during the match against Indonesia) and Dinh Thanh Binh (during the match against the Philippines).

Vietnam’s clean record sets it apart, as Timor Leste and Cambodia follow with four yellow cards each across four matches. Thailand and Malaysia recorded six yellow cards each, while Myanmar, Singapore, and Laos also received six yellow cards apiece. The Philippines had the highest tally among these teams, with 10 yellow cards.

In contrast, Indonesia topped the list of the least disciplined teams. The squad committed 52 fouls, accumulated three yellow cards, and two red cards, issued to Marselino Ferdinan and Ferrari. These red cards were pivotal in Indonesia's elimination from the tournament during the group stage.

Indonesia's team, coached by Shin Tae Yong, is the only side to have received red cards thus far in the competition.

The semifinals of the ASEAN Cup 2024 are set to feature Vietnam facing off against Singapore, while Thailand will take on the Philippines.

The first leg of the semifinals will take place on December 26 and 27, with the second leg scheduled for December 29 and 30.
