On December 10, Huu Lung Commune Police (Lang Son Province) reported they had penalized individuals who shared unverified claims about the case on social media before official information had been released by authorized agencies.

The incident had previously sparked public concern and confusion, with a wave of speculative and unchecked content circulating online, potentially obstructing the ongoing investigation.

In response, local authorities proactively monitored, verified, and sanctioned two individuals for violating laws related to misinformation.

One of the individuals, N.V.A., was summoned and admitted to livestreaming unverified details regarding the case. His actions were deemed disruptive to public order and misleading to the community.

As a result, N.V.A. received an administrative fine of 7.5 million VND (approx. 310 USD) and was ordered to remove the livestream from his personal Facebook page, which was originally broadcast on November 29.

The second case involved V.T.L., who had conducted a livestream titled “Recreating the crime scene.” Police summoned V.T.L., who was required to delete the content and pledged not to repeat the offense.

In connection with the case, on December 3, Lang Son Provincial Police held a press conference to officially announce developments in the murder investigation.

Authorities confirmed they had formally charged and detained Doan Van Sang on suspicion of murder, under Clause 1, Article 123 of the 2015 Penal Code.
