On the morning of October 8, the 19th People's Council of Bac Giang Province, in its 2021-2026 term, held its 20th session to review and decide on several important matters, with a particular focus on personnel issues.

During the session, the People’s Council passed a resolution dismissing Ms. Le Thi Thu Hong, former Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, from her role as Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council and relieving her from her duties as a member of the 19th Provincial People’s Council.

The People’s Council also dismissed Mr. Le Anh Duong from his position as Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee and relieved him from his duties as a member of the 19th Provincial People’s Council. Mr. Duong has retired early, effective October 1.

Additionally, Mr. Le O Pich was dismissed from his role as Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Earlier, during its 46th session, the Central Inspection Commission (CIC) reviewed the results of its investigation into violations and the subsequent accountability, recommending disciplinary action against the Standing Committee of the Bac Giang Provincial Party Committee.

According to the CIC, the Standing Committee of Bac Giang’s Provincial Party Committee violated the principles of democratic centralism and operational regulations. It showed irresponsibility, loosened leadership, and failed to supervise, leading to violations of Party and State regulations by various organizations and individuals involved in several investment projects carried out by Thuan An Group in the province.

These violations resulted in serious consequences, posing a significant risk of loss to the State's assets and finances, causing negative public opinion, and damaging the credibility of both the Party organization and local government, warranting disciplinary action.

The CIC determined that Mr. Le Anh Duong, Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee, bore responsibility for the violations and issued a warning against him.

On October 7, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed the decision to impose disciplinary action on Mr. Le Anh Duong.
