The cake is made from a mixture of flour, which is then mixed with sugar made from the sweet juice of thot not, a popular sugar palm plant in An Giang, and coconut milk.
The mixture is then left to sit for two hours before putting it in a clay oven, with the final product being a sweet hot sponge cake.
Thot not sugar and coconut milk help to create a mouth-watering smell. At a cost of only VND5,000 each, the cake has a crunchy outer ring and a soft and greasy inner layer, with a light sweet flavour.
