The Asian Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship will kick off today in Can Tho Province.

The Asian Beach Volleyball tournament will begin today in Can Tho.

The tournament has drawn 20 teams from 11 countries and territories such as Australia, Hong Kong, Japan and China, besides the hosts.

They have been divided into four groups, and will compete in a round-robin format. The best two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals.

The final is on May 1.

The organisers are offering a total bonus of US$15,000.

Last year, Wang Xinxin/Ding Jingjing of China beat Thailand’s Khantarak Kijja/Laosaengsa Ariya 2-0 to take the title. 

VNS
