Nui Coc Lake is located in the Dai Tu District of Thai Nguyen Province.

Nui Coc Lake is a man-made lake. It was constructed in 1978 to supply water for farming and use by local people.

The lake spans an area of 2,500 hectares.

It is surrounded by spectacular mountains and lush green tea hills.

Legend tells of a romantic love story between a girl named Cong and a man named Coc that once upon a time are deeply in love.

It is said that the story serves as the source of inspiration for the song ‘The Legend of Nui Coc Lake’ by composer Pho Duc Phuong.

Their families forbid them to marry due to their different social positions. 

Cong’s pained cries and tears have become the Cong River and Coc who spends his life in wait for his lover becomes the mountain.

Sunrise and sunset are nice moments for tourists to explore the unspoiled beauty on Nui Coc Lake.
