Jiangsu, playing with all their super stars, have already made headlines at the start of the new campaign following the high-profile signings of Brazilian trio Ramires, Alex Teixeira and Jo, while 2015 AFC Asian Cup winning defender Trent Sainsbury also arrived in the closed season.

Speaking at a press briefing on February 22 in Binh Duong city, Jiangsu coach Dan Petrescu appreciated the hosts' power and preparation for the match.

He said his players will give the game all their attention and three points would be strong encouragement for his team for the whole tournament.

Petrescu, who was a former player of European giant Chelsea, said he was satisfied with the personnel in the team this season. However, he needed time to make a perfect combination and develop an understanding between newcomers and the existing members.

He said Teixeira and Ramires who would bring some fresh air to his team's playing style and would make a difference in the match on February 23. They would play a key role in bringing home a win.

The home side was excited to play with these well-known players and want to spring a surprise.

"A win in the opening match of the V. League is a good start for the season. It strongly supports our match against Jiangsu," coach Nguyen Thanh Son said of Becamex Binh Duong.

"Becamex Binh Duong always set a target of a win on their home ground. Jiangsu are a strong rival with world-class players but we will try to limit their talent and maybe produce a bang," he said.

Captain Nguyen Anh Duc could not wait for the match.

"Yes, they are powerful as a team of stars. But Becamex Binh Duong are confident and we will have the best result," Duc said.

The match will kick-off at 5pm local time at the Go Dau Stadium and will be aired live on VTV6 channel.

In another match of the group, Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors of the Republic of Korea will host FC Tokyo at the Jeonju World Cup Stadium in Jeonju City.
