The Drug and Crime Prevention Department in coordination with Lao police force have caught red-handed a Lao man who was smuggling 40kg of methamphetamine, 120,000 pills of synthetic drug and two cakes of heroin into Vietnam.

The trafficker was born in 1956 and resides in Laos’ Bokeo province. He transported drugs from Laos’ Houaphanh province via northern Son La province for distribution in Vietnam.

The Department handed the trafficker and seized drug for Houaphanh province’s police for further investigation according to Lao law.

This is the biggest drug trafficking ring that has been busted by the Department since early this year.
